I bought this for my sony handycam 610. I did not know if it would fit or work as there was no info out there on it. But it does fit, and it does work. Looks a little weird having a wire connect things on the outside but works. When I first got it I charged it up and then left the camera on over night, i have an 8 gig sd card and set it on low settings, the next day when I work up and looked at it to see how long it recored...5 hours and 24 mins. That makes me very happy so I will prob buy another and just keep it with the camera.

i would love to give a review for the battery shown. but instead of sending the battery advertised the company sent me a battery that requires a cable that be plugged in to the camera. this is very inconvenient and becomes easily unplugged messing up your once in a lifetime footage.. i requested that they send the correct battery and explained in detail the problem. after some petty argument from the seller they agreed to send the "correct" battery.
after another 7 days the SAME battery showed up..
i give the seller a D for effort.. of course they now have offered to refund my money but only after wasting a month of my time and giving me atitude for being hard to please.. "what is it that you want? what will make hyou happy" they asked .. how about sending the battery advertised i answered.. they obviously dont get it..
now its just a matter of how easily i will get the refund.. i wont hold my breath on that one..

Picture is misleading. This shows a true sony battery which this item is not. The actual battery also requires a lead that plugs into the back of the battery and then into the back of the camcorder (SR-82). The battery is large as it is and the additional wire makes it look even bigger and ugly. Also, as plugs into dc port of camcorder (which is where you would plug the adaptor to connect to the mains) there is no indicator on screen with remaining battery life. Although cheaper, I would recommend a paying the extra for a proper Sony battery.

The Product was made by Digital Concepts. The picture of the product is wrong. It doesn't look like the one from sony. The color is gray. Also... on the back are 2 places where you are to put a connector for the charger and one for the camcorder. Mine is for the SOny Hdr-hc7. It comes with a short cord which connects the back of the battery with the DC in on the back of the camcorder. If you don't use this, then the screen will say that "this batter does not work." It looks very ugly from the back with the cord sticking out and the huge white letters that say "FH" and "Charger". There is also a green LCD light that shows when it is in use.
Also... big problem, there's no battery indicator on the screen when you use this battery. One time it just shut off in the middle of the recording. This can be a big problem if you have an important video to take.
